Son of Shri Laxmi Narayan Khunteta — a revered emerald manufacturer, gemstone trader, and real estate figure — Gaurav's relationship with gems began not in a boardroom, but at his father's side. Growing up surrounded by the rhythm of the trade instilled in him an understanding of stones that no classroom could replicate.
In 1999, Gaurav lost his father. It was a defining moment — one that could have closed doors, but instead opened a path. Carrying his father's values and the weight of a legacy worth honouring, Gaurav made a courageous decision: to go out into the world, to learn, and to return with something worthy of the Khunteta name.
He spent 8 years in Australia — completing a Master's in Marketing and an MBA in International Business, before entering high-performance sales roles that gave him firsthand fluency in global markets, wholesale dynamics, and the expectations of luxury buyers. He also brings a strong foundation in Information Technology — a discipline that now shapes how this company thinks about systems, traceability, and the future of ethical gem sourcing.
Today, Gaurav brings together everything his father built, everything he studied, and everything he experienced — channelling it into a single, focused mission: to make lab grown emeralds of the highest calibre available to the world's trade professionals, with the integrity his father's name demands.
